With millions of his own dollars at his disposal and an aggressive campaign, political outsider Rick Scott seemed he might take the Republican primary for governor over career politician Bill McCollum. Well, according to a new Mason-Dixon poll, McCollum is back on top, but Democrat Alex Sink now leads both potential Republicans in a head-to-head matchup.

McCollum leads Scott in the poll 34-30, reversing a trend that saw Scott leading Florida's attorney general by as much as double digits.

Their brutal campaign back-and-forth might be beneficial for Democrats. CFO Alex Sink now leads both of them in general election polling.

Sink narrowly leads McCollum 37-35, with independent candidate Lawton "Bud" Chiles getting 13 percent. Fifteen percent remain undecided.

Sink absolutely crushes Scott in a head-to-head matchup. She leads 40 percent to Scott's 24 percent. Chiles would receive 17 percent, with 19 percent undecided.
