Jeff Greene's Senate Hopes Are Near Dead

Categories: Politicks
Jeff Greene has used nearly $23 million of his own money trying to win the Democratic nomination for senator, and he's not even done spending. But tomorrow is Election Day, and two recent polls show Greene's candidacy is pretty much dead in the water.

Public Policy Polling, a Democratic firm, shows Congressman Kendrick Meek trouncing Greene in the primary 51 to 27 percent. That's a humongous 24 percent lead for Meek.

The latest Quinnipiac poll also shows Meek with a sizable lead: He gets 39 percent to Greene's 29.

Meek has benefited from being the establishment candidate, as well as getting Bill Clinton's endorsement and appearing with President Barack Obama. Meanwhile, Greene has been haunted by horrible tales from aboard his luxury yacht involving strippers, vomit, trips to Cuba, and a myriad of B-list celebs.
