A whopping 74 percent of people 65 and older are opposed to the idea of a tanning tax. Maybe the older generation just hate the idea of any taxes. Or maybe they figure that they're old and wrinkly any way and figure "why shouldn't I get a golden tan in my golden years," and a tax free one at that.
Honestly, we figured that the face of tanning tax opposition would be that of a bleach blonde, twenty-something with blue contact lenses and unfortunate make up. Who knew it was actually that of your abuela?
A plurality of people in the 18-29 and 30-45 age groups favor the tax. Only 35 percent of people between 18 and 29 think the tax is a bad idea, meaning that noted tanning tax opponent Snooki does not represent the ideals of her generation.
