Rocket wide receiver Tommy Shuler takes it to the house against Camden County
From the depths of despair to the pinnacle of victory, this season's roller coaster ride keeps on going for the Miami Central Rockets.

After last weekend's soul crushing defeat to Georgia state champs Camden County, the Rockets responded with a 48-6 annihilation of 3A Dallas Madison on Saturday. The rout meant that three out of four Florida teams came out on top in the first annual Florida vs. Texas tournament.

For those of you scoring at home, that means that Florida is three times better at football than Texas. You can't argue with math. Eat it Longhorns.

Not to brag, but we saw this win coming. As predicted, Central running back Devonta Freeman broke out of a funk by rushing for 130 yards on 11 carries. He also caught a pass for a touchdown.

Wide receivers Tommy Shuler and Durell Eskridge added a TD apiece, as quarterback Rakeem Cato threw for 209 yards in just the first half. Receiver Brian Deveaux slid over behind center for the second half.

All in all, Florida took three of four games from Texas in the two-state tournament. First, unranked Cocoa beat #4 in the nation Abilene on Friday, before Central and Belle Glades destroyed Dallas Madison and Denison respectively. In the Saturday night game, sunshine state champion Miramar lost in overtime to host DeSoto on a failed two-point conversion.

Combined Scores from the four games: Florida 166 - 86 Texas.

Back to its winning ways, Central kicks off against division rival Miami Beach this Thursday at 4 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
