Dueppen was for a time stationed at the same South Beach church as Father Cutié, another Miami priest who famously broke the Catholic Church's celibacy laws and is now married to his girlfriend and practicing as an Episcopalian priest.
Dueppen's story was far less romantic. He met Hernandez after a visit to Porky's. Dueppen helped pay for her divorce, left her, allegedly used church money to keep her silent before crawling back to her and then knocked her up.
Gonzalez also claimed Dueppen tried to pressure her into lesbian sex at a swinger's club according to CBS4:
"He was telling me that I had evil spirits with me and that I needed his help big time," she recalled. "He said we're going to have to go to a place where they can take those evil spirits from you. I said, 'What do you mean?' And he said, 'A swingers' club.'"After a long legal battle that started with Hernandez seeking child support, a judge has awarded equal custody to both parents, and ordered Dueppen to pay child support.
"He said, 'The only way the spirits are going to leave you is if you get involved with women.' I said, 'David, I'm not into women."
We just hope for the sake of their now-two-year-old daughter the two can learn to co-parent successfully and raise the child right. Having a feuding stripper and priest for parents isn't exactly the easiest thing to deal with, we're sure. Then again, the little girl already has material for the first few chapters of what's sure to be a thrilling memoir.
