Did Surfside Cop Maximo Moreno, Arrested for Bribe Scheme, Also Enjoy Stalking His Lady?
| Maximo Moreno, alleged lady stalker. |
Tiny Surfside is historically scandal-ridden, and this year another cop there was cuffed for a scheme involving false accident reports and insurance payouts. Tremont Towing is notoriously sleazy and its employees were recently busted rifling through towed cars.
These schemers being implicated together makes them a two-bit Miami Beach version of Escobar and Noriega.
But long before 25-year-old Maximo Moreno (cop) and his 31-year-old brother Allan (tow truck driver) were allegedly taking bribes from drunk drivers and towing them out of Surfside, they were battering people and stalking their lady, records show. Let's give them their due.
| Allan Moreno, really angry. |
Then the transitivo de su senora-- that's "stalking of his lady" in Spanish, we think-- began in earnest, she claimed. He showed up at her work or called her there, followed her to Miami Springs where she was visiting a friend, left voicemails threatening to kill himself-- you know, all the usual shit.
No charges were pressed for the lady-stalking because his ex-girlfriend didn't show up in court.
As for older brother Allan, in 2001 he was arrested for assault and battery. The case file has been mostly destroyed, alas, but he took an anger management course and paid $136.00 in restitution.
So one brother is an alleged lady-stalker and the other is really angry. Where did Mom go wrong?
