Is Chad Ochocinco's Pigeon-Birthing Saga a Fraud?

Liberty City native and Cincinnati Bengals star Chad Ochocinco has been tweeting up a storm about the bizarre saga of his pregnant pigeon. He even expressed frustration upon learning that pigeons lay eggs and do not give live birth. Today he tweeted pictures of the newly hatched pigeon babies. Problem is, the picture he used was lifted from the net. Was Ochocinco lying this entire time about the saga of his pregnant pet pigeon? More important, why in hell would anyone do that?

Here's the picture Ochocinco uploaded to Twitpic with the message, "These are the baby pigeons, their names are Paco y Fifi." This came about an hour after he tweeted, "Totally cool, the pigeon eggs finally hatched, she had twins, how do i tell which is a girl and which is a boy pigeon?"

​The picture actually comes from a website devoted to the pets of some couple named Jun Michael and Lou. It also comes up on the first page of Google Image Search when you type "baby pigeons."

So the tale of the pigeons seems to be a fraud.

Ochocinco for months has been devoted to chronicling the tale of his pregnant pet pigeon on Twitter -- including an episode where he claimed the pigeon was stolen.



There were clues all along, though. This picture he posted on Twitter claiming to be his pet is actually the first Google Image search result for "pregnant pigeon." Go figure.

So Chad is either certifiably insane or deserves the award for Best Celebrity Internet Troll. Why would anyone, let alone an NFL star, carry on such a weird hoax for so long? Mr. Ochocinco, you are truly an enigma wrapped in a puzzle housed in the body of a man-child.
