• As a Torontonian that did =not= vote for this ridiculous excuse for a human being? I'm incredibly embarrassed just by reading this article alone, in my apartment, with no one else to witness it. Last night on a prominent news program, he actually ditched an interview after 3 minutes citing his 'tight schedule' as the reason(he was coaching a football practice) and this morning it turned out he ditched the phone interview because he had a photo-op at said football practice. I think we can count on his big dumb mouth to get him out before his 4 years are up. Fingers crossed.

• @ Deanna Rob Ford got 47.1% of all the votes...that's 1.65 out of your 3.5 billion voters. Obviously, he was the most popular candidate and people voted for him for a number of reasons; some because they thought he would do a good job, and some because they thought he was a better candidate. While I respect your opinion that you don't like him, among other, many people think he will do a fine job as mayor. A DUI is never a good thing, but I have close friends who are loving caring people in both the US and Canada who have made the same mistake. All have learned their lesson, as Ford did, obviously. 3. I've personally seen Toronto take a slide over the past 6 years in many respects, including Taxi fare raises, transportation tax raises, a loss of respect for public transit and its employees, shotty road conditions and repair, and most currently a literal shut down of the city for the G20 summit. Ford's main opponent in this election wasted over a billion dollars of public money, never graduated from high school, and ran his unfocused campaign on the message "I'm not Rob Ford". • It was over a decade ago, and I'm proud he's our new mayor. He won in somewhat of a landslide victory, against an opponent who has never acknowledged $1 billion of funds he helped lose. Our last mayor looked great on paper, but sold our city out to unions and introduced ridiculous taxes while politicians blew money on parties. Democracy is beautiful, and Torontonians aren't idiots. • Richard, He's immature. I've heard records of him saying slanderous things to female friends of mine, where they've felt endangered. His wife accosted me once at my office, yet she probably has no record of it. Many of these other comments of his were said as of late. He is a public relations nightmare.
