Anonymous Phone Call Leads Police to Murder Mystery in NW Dade

Miami-Dade police didn't hear the gunshots, but they did hear the phone ring. If it wasn't for an anonymous phone call they may not have found the body of a dead man in a Northwest Miami-Dade apartment. Now, with little clues and few apparent witnesses police must solve the mysterious murder.

Police received the anonymous call about a dead body last Friday. When they arrived at the apartment complex in the 2200 block of NW 51st Street they found the body of a young man, believed to be in his 20s, lifeless and shot to death.

They believe the apparent murder happened on the same day they received the call, though they have no suspects, witnesses, or possible motives. They may not even yet know the identity of the victim.

CBS4 reports that when news of the shooting spread in the surrounding neighborhood several people showed up worried that the victim may be a relative.

Anyone with any information about the murder is invited to call Miami-Dade Crimestoppers at 305-471-8477.
