Autumn Musical Festival Shutdown Spurs Teen Ravers to Riot in Downtown
![]() |
The riot took place after officials shut down AMF early for reasons relating to an unruly crowd outside the gates. Apparently, the police did not think far enough ahead to figure out what a couple thousands unruly teenagers would then do.
This video opens with several kids surrounding a Miami-Dade Transit bus stopped on Biscayne Boulevard. Several are on top, showing off like budding young douchebags are apt to do. Then the "party" moves to the top of a taxi cab while the hapless driver sits and watches his vehicle being damaged. Chants of "fuck the police" and "fuck that taxi" erupt until one kid jumps from the top of the bus onto the taxi. Just a reminder: Any of the damage done to these vehicles will be paid with your tax dollars.
Amazingly, there seem to be none of Miami's finest on the scene while this video was being filmed.
In a report from HouseMusicTv.com, the reporter explains that more people showed up than organizers had anticipated which led to the early shut down. He is also amazed that there is absolutely no police presence to deal with the mob scene.
Maybe we should let you know that Riptide has a well known bias against teen ravers. In fact fortunately for our safety, and unfortunately for our eyewitness reporting capability, we accidentally passed by the scene on Saturday before the riots took place but could feel something unsettling brewing:
