Partridge Family Star David Cassidy Charged with DUI in South Florida

​I think a lot of people love David Cassidy, so what are they so afraid of? Maybe that he'll swerve into them in his white Mercedes while allegedly driving drunk. Yes, the former teen idol and Partridge Family star, now 60, was arrested in South Florida for driving drunk. When a Florida Highway Patrol Trooper pulled him over he admitted to having a glass of wine and a hydrocodone pill before getting behind the wheel. After a search though, the trooper found a half empty bottle of bourbon in his car.

Cassidy has a home in Ft. Lauderdale, and was stopped on the Florida Turnpike last night in St. Lucie after the FHP noticed his 2008 white Mercedes swerving on and off the road. After being pulled over Cassidy cooperated with the trooper and appeared confused, nervous and apologetic according to reports.

Cassidy admitted to the wine and hydrocodone, a powerful prescription pain medicine know for being addictive, but swore those were taking earlier in the day.

He then failed several field sobriety tests, and followed that by failing twobreathalyzer tests. Cassidy blew a blood alcohol level of 0.139 percent and 0.141 percent in the two tests taking at about 8:30 pm. The legal limit in Florida is a 0.08.

The trooper then later found the bottle of Labrot & Graham Woodford Reserve bourbon in the backseat of Cassidy's car.

Cassidy was arrested on charges including DUI, failure to maintain a lane and an open bottle in a vehicle. He was released early in the morning on $350 bail.

Cassidy has recently been in New York filming the next season of Donal Trump's Celebrity Apprentice.
