Heat Haters Now Hate Miami's Swanky Intro Video

​With the Miami Heat on a winning streak desperate Heat haters are starting to find weird peripheral things to hate on. First it was some eight-year-old fan. Now it's the Heat's intro video. It's old news. It's played before every home game this season. Then again, because Miami fans apparently have a hard time getting to the arena on time you might not have seen it.




Apparently, the GQ-motherfucker aspects of the video are raising ire.

"The incredibly serious faces every player wears are so extraordinarily ridiculous given the context," writes SBNation. "Player intro videos can be stern, piercing affairs. But the atmosphere of the song, the falling sparks, the flaming puddles and the mesmerizingly splices of the Miami Viced-up dancer -- it's just too much to take. No wonder the Heat's home crowd won't get on its feet and hurl expletives at Paul Pierce. They're too busy laughing."

Larry Brown Sports calls it, "Over the top and obnoxious."

Commenters at Dime Magazine have various things to say: "is this basketball or a fucking gq spread?" "It was pretty cool... For me to poop on," "gay," "Gay" and "SUUUUUUPPPPPPEEEEEERRRRRRR GAAAAAAAAAY!!!"

The Heat's propensity for fashion spread-like intro video though long predates the arrival of King James. Check out the jazzy video they used last year:

We can't find a clip of the 2007 video, but that too was a sophisticated affair that featured, like this year's, Phil Collin's "In The Air Tonight."

So, Heat haters may want to characterize it as some LeBron-fueled ego trip, but the Heat have been putting out some of the fanciest and sophisticated intro videos in the NBA for years now.
