Star Recruit Teddy Bridgewater Decommits From Miami
Bridgewater, who comes from the same area high school as current 'Canes QB Jacory Harris, was considered the star so far of The U's next recruiting class. He reportedly told assistant coaches following Shannon's firing that he would reopen his recruiting options.
Bridgewater will reportedly take an official visit to Louisville this weekend.
Albert Louis-Jean, a highly rated Corner from Massachusetts, and Marcus Johnson, a touted offensive guard from Vero Beach, have also decommitted. Only four players remain committed to signing with the 'Canes.
The team has also canceled recruiting visits from other highly rated players.
UM is expected to only have room for a relatively small recruiting class of 15 or 16 players, but the recent moves underscore the fact that AD Kirby Hocutt needs to find a quality coach to replace Shannon and fast.
With top choice Jon Gruden no longer interested and second choice Dan Mullen reportedly leaning towards signing again with Mississippi State, the 'Canes coach search hasn't moved that far past square one.
