Tesla and Laurence Gartel Collaborate on Art Car That Doesn't Suck

In a nice break from Britto-mobiles and Stephen Gamson Lambos, electric car makers Tesla have unveiled a car collaboration with an artist that doesn't offend our sensibilities. They commissioned painter Laurence Gartel to design a costume wrap for their Roadster model.

Wired.com spotted the art car. Tesla is the quite interesting motor company that makes all electric vehicles. Their roadster model can get up to 200 miles on a single charge, and can attain a top speed of 125 mph. They had been talking about opening a store in Miami, but settled for a dealership in Dania Beach.

Gartel is an internationally acclaimed artist who was associated with early punk rock legends, but is no stranger to commercial work. He's collaborated with Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and Absolut Vodka in the past.

The car is apparently out there somewhere in the Art Basel Miami Beach wild, and available for sale.
