Doral Mayor J.C. Bermudez Announces He Exists, Will Run For County Mayor

Bermudez has been Doral's mayor since 2003, and is the only mayor the suburb has known. According to The Herald, he feels he has to finish his commitment to his constituency and won't be seeking any office until he's done with his current one.
Amongst the changes Bermudez would like to see in County Hall are term limits but better salaries for Commissioners. He's also talking some game about streamlining government and making it more transparent.
Perhaps its a good thing that Bermudez isn't that well known right now outside of his town. There's dozens of mayors in Miami-Dade, and when one of them makes headlines outside of their municipality it's usually for all the wrong reasons. (How many of you even remembered West Miami was a city until their former Mayor got caught up in a scandal last year?)
Though, some YouTube videos did make the rounds in the past year showing Bermudez being less than cordial with Doral commissioners and his chief of police.
Bermudez joins an already crowded field that includes Hialeah Mayor Julio Robaina, Miami-Dade commissioner Carlos Gimenez and former state legislator Marcelo Llorente.
