LeBron James to Launch Kids Cartoon Show

​We all know LeBron James makes for good television, but can he actually make good television? We'll find out this Spring when the Heat star launches his own online animated show for kids on YouTube and his own website. Titled The LeBrons, the series will feature cartoon versions of LeBron and the three alter-egos -- Young LeBron, Wise LeBron, and Business LeBron -- he portrayed in that series of popular Nike ads a few years ago.

The initial season will consist of ten episodes that are about 5 to 6 minutes each, and James tells The New York Times that he hopes the series comes off like a more kid-friendly version of The Boondocks.

"'The Boondocks' is very edgy," he says, "but it has some great points, too, and if you can extract yourself from how edgy it is, you can find that point and you can use it."

Though, he also lists Sponge Bob, Tom & Jerry and Batman as favorite cartoon shows. All of which seem vastly more kid appropriate than The Boondocks.

​The series will center on Kid LeBron as he grows up in his hometown of Akron, Ohio, and already has sponsorship deals in place. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Boys and Girls club.

James himself will only voice Business LeBron, and will also appear in a few live action segments.
