Four teenagers walking home from class at Miami Springs Senior High School were struck and injured by a careening, out of control car. The driver of the car lost control when he passed out due to some sort of medical condition. The incident occurred at West First Avenue and Ninth Street in Hialeah just after 3 p.m. this afternoon.

The Hialeah Fire Department says the teens were two girls and two boys and between the ages of 14 an 17. Three are in critical condition, while the fourth was lucky to only sustain minor injuries.

The most severely injured teens were airlifted to the trauma unit at Jackson Memorial Hospital, while the other two were transported to the hospital by ambulance.

After the driver lost consciousness he hit another care and a light pole before hitting the teens. His SUV then hit another car before crashing into an apartment building. The driver was the only person in the car. There is no word on the driver's identity or condition.
