2011 Miami Hurricanes Schedule Released
|Will the 'Canes open their first game against Randy Shannon?|
This could be some shrewd scheduling for the big Labor Day Monday Night Football game for ESPN and the ACC assuming Shannon does take the job. Maybe they know something we don't (as in Shannon is going to take the job), because otherwise this game would seem odd to single out for such a sweet prime time showcase.
A Thursday night game at Virginia will also be broadcast on ESPN. In another interesting move, the annual Canes-Bulls game has been moved back one week from the sort-of-traditional last game of the regular season spot.
Sept. 5 at Maryland (Monday), ESPN, 8 pm
Sept. 10 OPEN
Sept. 17 OHIO STATE
Sept. 24 KANSAS STATE
Oct. 1 BETHUNE‐COOKMAN
Oct. 8 at Virginia Tech
Oct. 15 at North Carolina
Oct. 22 GEORGIA TECH
Oct. 27 VIRGINIA (Thursday), ESPN, 8 pm
Nov. 5 DUKE

Nov. 19 at South Florida
Nov. 26 BOSTON COLLEGE
2011 will, of course, be new head coach Al Golden's first test. An away game against a newly revitalized Maryland and then a home game against Ohio State is a big first order of business. Though, if Golden is worth his salt he shouldn't have too much trouble taking care of Kansas State and Bethune-Cookman at home before entering the rest of ACC play. That won't be an easy start either, as the 'Canes will play away games against their two toughest ACC Coastal Division rivals, Virginia Tech and North Carolina (where Golden will meet another former 'Canes Head Coach in Butch Davis).
