Dave Duerson, a former superstar Safety who took four trips to the Pro Bowl and had two Super Bowl rings on his fingers, was found dead in his Miami home last night. So far, though, no cause of death have been given.

"Our family asks that you please remember Dave as a good, kind, and caring man," ex-wife Alicia Duerson told NBCChicago. "He loved and cherished his family and friends and was extremely proud of his beloved Notre Dame and ......Chicago Bears. Please keep Dave and our family in your prayers."

"We are stunned and saddened to hear the tragic news regarding Dave Duerson," read a statement by the Chicago Bears. "He was a great contributor to our team and the Chicago community. Today is a difficult day for all of us who loved Dave. We'll miss him. Our prayers are with his family."

Duerson helped the '85 Bears win a Super Bowl, and while with the team he was selected to the Pro Bowl every year between 1986 and 1989. He was later traded to the New York Giants in 1990 where he collected his second Super Bowl Ring, and then spent 1991 through 1993 playing for the Phoenix Cardinals.

Duerson held the NFL record for most sacks by a defensive back in a single season until it was broken by Adrian Wilson in 2005.
