Dolphins Great Bob Kuechenberg Busted for DUI

Bob "Kooch" Kuechenberg, a Miami Dolphins legend who played for the unbeaten '72 team and racked up six Pro Bowl selections, has been busted for a DUI. The arrest comes after he side swiped another vehicle while trying to make a lane change on a stretch of I-95 in Broward County on Saturday night.

The 63-year-old former offensive lineman made the ill-advised lane change while traveling south bound on the interstate near Commercial Blvd. Luckily no one was injured, but the Florida Highway Patrol pulled Kuechenberg over and discovered that his blood alcohol level was at 0.12, over the 0.08 legal limit.

He was released on a $2,000 bond on Sunday morning, but now faces charges of DUI, DUI involving damage to property, and an improper lane change.

Since retiring Kooch has kept himself in the local headlines by regularly critiquing his former franchise. Two seasons ago he called Ted Ginn Jr. a "coward" and an "embarrassment" and in 2006 he predicted that there was no way the then 1-6 Dolphins could beat a then undefeated Chicago Bears in an away game. That criticism caused then-Dolphins star Jason Taylor to deliver some choice words.

"It's another chapter in the grumpy Kuechenberg story," Taylor said at the time. "It's Kuechenberg. He gets up every year and [complains] about something. If it ain't one thing, it's another. He needs a hug and a hobby. It's ridiculous."

For the record, the Dolphins went on to beat the Bears 31-13 after his comments and kicked off a four game winning streak.
