Is Jeremy Shockey Joining the Dolphins?

Shockey was unceremoniously cut from the Saints earlier this week after a rather lackluster season (he lost his job to another former 'Canes, Jimmy Graham), but at age 30 isn't quite yet ready to retire.
Shockey's power house agent Drew Rosenhaus was on the Joe Rose show this morning on WQAM and spoke about the possibility of the tight end suiting up in coral and aqua.
"I can't speak for the Dolphins but I will tell you Jeremy does have an interest in Miami," said Rosenhaus. "Jeremy lives in Miami, has always been a big fan of South Florida, obviously, going back to his great days at the University of Miami. ... From our standpoint we are very interested in the Dolphins, but I cannot comment on whether that feeling is mutual at this time."
Shockey is scheduled to undergo a physical for an unnamed team, but there's not telling whether it's the Fins. Rosenhaus' statement that he's not sure whether the interest is mutual points to the fact it may not be.
Bringing in a former 'Canes great should create excitement in South Florida, a synergy the Dolphins have rarely taken advantage of.
The Dolphins could use some help in the tight end department, but Shockey's play has been declining over the past few season and there are serious questions over how much he can still contribute to an NFL team.
Shockey would instantly come in with all the makings of a fan favorite, but whether his play keeps him in good graces through the season is another question. Then again, for the right price, it may not hurt to find out.
