Shakey Rodriguez's wunderkinds just got derailed.
Krop High's boys basketball squad-- already a district champion and a favorite to win state-- has been booted from the playoffs. This time, it appears, for good.

An appeals court today reversed a judge's earlier decision to allow the team to play. Dr. Michael Krop High was barreling through the playoffs despite the Florida High School Athletic Association's ruling that a player on the team, Brian Delancy, was ineligible due to a failure to file immigration paperwork.

Today's court ruling is another chapter in a week-long story that has included revelations of shady recruiters, bogus addresses, and an arrest warrant for the team's star point guard.

The school's spot in the 6A bracket will be vacated, and Miami Senior High will get a first-round bye. The appeals court's decision saves Miami-Dade from another stripped championship. "This is a good day for coaches and student-athletes who play by the rules," FHSAA executive director Roger Dearing wrote in a statement. "Doing what's right pays off."

But the saga isn't over yet. Krop High could face six-figure fines if it's revealed that its administrators knowingly broke the rules. And we have evidence that they did, which we'll be publishing tomorrow.

We've embedded today's court ruling below.

Krop was wrong. Come on, we know that. Lots of times we don't know what right or wrong is, but lots of times we do, and this is one. Krop may not have had sinister intent at the outset, but there were plenty of opportunities for them to make it right and no one did. No one takes responsibility for anything anymore. They foster, they obfuscate, and they rationalize. "Everybody does it", that's what they say. So they come to occupy a moral safe house where everyone's to blame, and so no one is guilty.

Seriously people. The kids might be getting effed here but the fact is rules were broken. Setting the example that bending/breaking rules is OK is a pretty low bar to set. You should be upset at the school for putting the kids in this situation not at a publication for breaking the news. jeeeeeez

Roger Dearing is a scumbag. Gus Garcia-Robert is a scumbag. Both should be fired. The kids of Krop High got screwed.

pretty sad how the fhsaa could take the team out off the playoffs like that they do not no how hard it is to be the number one team in the state and how hard it is to make it to the playoffs pretty sad what there doing to these young kids all that hard work :[

Your absolutely right!...smh...Gus was determine, now lets see if a dade county team wins State....The kids didn't deserve this..shame on you
