Natacha Seijas Ends Legal Fight Against Recall

Her decision comes two days after Judge Amy Steele Donner signaled she would likely rule against the longtime county commissioner. After that hearing, Seijas and Sergeant at Arms Lou De Los Santos jostled with television reporters seeking her comment. Seijas has refused to address the media throughout the recall drama. We expect that to continue through election day.
Seijas did issue a prepared statement that read:
The important thing now is for the people of District 13 to cast their ballots and say 'no' to this unfair recall attempt. I thank everyone for their support during this difficult process, and I look forward to serving the remainder of my four-year term."Seijas beat back a previous recall effort in 2006, when she retained office with nearly 65 percent of the vote. She was reelected in 2008 by a wide margin.
