Alonzo Mourning Literally Stops Traffic to Do Good Deed

The city may be enamored with a new generation of Miami Heat superstars, but we've still got love for Alonzo Mourning. Doesn't hurt that he's a pretty good guy. Apparently not content with his work through charities as a source of good karma, Mourning literally stopped traffic on the busy South Dixie Highway to help a disabled person cross the street.

The Sun-Sentinel reports that Mourning found himself stuck in traffic on the stretch of US-1 this morning near the intersection of Bird Road when he spotted a person in a motorized wheelchair trying to cross the road.

Mourning jumped out of his car and temporarily stopped traffic to help the person cross. It helps that his 6'10 frame means when he puts his hands up, most people notice. After the person safely crossed, Mourning got back in his car to cheers from fans.

We'd suggest LeBron James could pull a similar karma buster, but you never know when a former fan from Cleveland might be on the road.
