Cocaine Found at Kennedy Space Center, Again
NASA reports that 4.2 grams of a powdery substance were found at the space center on Cape Canaveral. Initial tests showed a positive result for cocaine, but the substance is undergoing further tests.
NASA representatives refuse to release information about where the cocaine was found, nor will they say how many employees will undergo a drug test.
An agency spokesman will also not comment about whether the drug might be connected to a fatal accident this past Monday. An employee of a company contracted by NASA fell to his death while working on a launch pad.
Surprisingly, this is not the first time in recent memory when cocaine has been discovered at the space center. Last year, a bag that contained cocaine residue was found in a hangar housing the shuttle Discovery. No workers tested positive for the drug, and NASA closed that investigation without an answer as to how the drug got into such a high-security area.
