Coral Gables Candidates Raise More Than Half-A-Million Dollars

The election season in the City Beautiful is entering the home stretch. Coral Gables voters will be casting their ballots for mayor and two city commissioners on April 12. The latest quarterly campaign finance reports show the candidates have raised a total of more than $685,000.

City residents can meet and hear from the candidates tonight at the University of Miami Bill Cosford Cinema during a forum sponsored by the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce.

In the mayor's race, incumbent Don Slesnick leads his two opponents with $158,760. Attorney Tom Korge has raised $112,050, while former State Department official James Cason has picked up $72,785.

In the Group 4 commission race, business owner Brad Rosenblatt is the top money getter with $153,623. He is followed by attorney Frank Quesada ($77,330), real estate investor Gonzalo Sanabria ($31,370), real estate broker Richard Martin ($2,870), real estate salesman Jackson Rip Holmes ($1,410), and insurance healthcare executive Rene Alvarez. ($1,000).

In Group 5, incumbent William "Bill" Kerdyk Jr. has raised $68,748, and consultant Richard Namon has raised $5,100.
