Miami Herald Endorses Loser Deadbeat for Second Time in Seven Months
|Oscar Braynon II is a new state senator because he is not just like Joe Celestin.|
Yesterday, former state Rep. Oscar Braynon II easily defeated ex-North Miami Mayor Joe Celestin, who for the second time in less than a year was endorsed by the Herald's opinion makers. Apparently they don't give a shit that the Haitian-American Republican is a deadbeat. In making the case for Celestin, the editorial board proclaimed, "There's not a lot of difference between the two candidates." We respectfully disagree.
Last August, the Herald endorsed Celestin in the race to unseat Dorrin Rolle from the county commission, ignoring the fact that the ex-North Miami mayor owes a half-million dollars for a loan from a company owned by developer Michael Swerdlow. And that's just one of several reasons not to vote for Celestin. Braynon doesn't have any financial baggage. But don't count on the editorial board to flesh that out for you.
