These boots were made for gawking.
This isn't Texas, and no one really expects our governor to tramp around in cowboy boots. Maybe wearing the "official" Florida shoe, the flip-flop, would be appropriate, but cowboy boots? Well, it turns out Rick Scott has a thing for boots that might rival Rep. Frederica Wilson's fetish for hats. In fact, even before he was officially sworn in, he began wearing a custom pair featuring the state seal.

The Buzz has the scoop on the boots. They feature the words 45th governor embossed in gold, along with the state seal, state flag, and American flag.

Unlike Wilson's hats, many of them the work of a local milner, Scott's shoes aren't the work of a Floridian. They come from RJ's Boots in Houston, which claims to have made boots for every president from Jimmy Carter to George W. Bush (Obama apparently won't be gifted with any, though). Owner Rocky Carroll (who once got the feature treatment in our Houston-based sister paper) has also made boots for the likes of Pope John Paul II, Oprah, Hillary Clinton, and the dearly departed Liz Taylor (who ordered $40,000 boots encrusted in white diamonds, naturally).

In fact, Scott liked the boots so much, he ordered a second pair. And in case you're wondering, he wears a size 10.
