With gas prices slowly creeping once again to $4 for a gallon of regular, transportation is getting more expensive for us all. Even citizens who jet about town in taxis will start feeling the pain as cabs in the Miami area will start charging a $1 surcharge due to the recent rising fuel costs.

The Sun-Sentinel reports that the surcharge will go into effect this Thursday March 29. The surcharge is triggered anytime gas prices average more than $3.50 for more than three straight consecutive weeks.

The $1 surcharge may not be the last of it either. The charge could rise in increments of $0.50 depending on how high gas prices reach.
