Key West Residents to Send Rick Scott a Giant Jar of Their Urine

Rick Scott really is a big fan of having people pee in cups. He plans to start mandatory drug testing for both welfare recipients and state employees, but not everyone is on board with the plan. A group of Key West citizen calling themselves Committee for the Positive Insistence on a Sane Society (Yes, Committee for P.I.S.S.) wants to give Scott a piece of their mind and a sample from their bladder.

This weekend members gathered to take a collective urine sample and plan to send it to the governor.

"In one breath our CEO professes to be focusing on cutting wasteful government spending and laying off tens of thousands of state employees, while at the same time he announces a program to drug test state employees without any legitimate basis for such an invasion of privacy," attorney Robert Cinton wrote in the press release, according to Naked Politics.

The sample of collective urine will be sent to Scott in Tallahassee. God bless the mail room clerk who has to deal with that.

Maybe it's too much to ask the committee for P.I.S.S. to label its gift as "Special Key West-style Lemonade."

I agree with the whole drug testing for welfare idea. But it's the only good idea this guy has had since he's been in office. Plus, it wasn't even HIS idea, this was in the works before he came to office. I honestly hate Scott with a passion. Can I send him a jar full of turds ?

And do you think the state should allow Rick Scotts company to administer the tests? The same tests that cost about $100 each and can be beaten without thinking twice? The same tests that have been called unconstitutional by the US Supreme Court unless you have documented reasons to suspect the particular employee you are testing is using drugs? I wonder how much government waste will occur after setting up the offices to manage the testing and HR issues resulting from them as well as the lawsuits and fines we'll have to pay out of the state coffers when employee's sue and win for illegal testing methods. BTW, if Rick Scott is so concerned with drugs in Florida, why did he defund the database and office of drug control set up to eliminate our status as the largest distribution center in the western hemisphere for prescription narcotics two days after the FBI came to our state and dragged away pain clinic doctors?

I am no liberal; I bet I am more conservative than you my friend!
