Miami International Airport Reports Record-Breaking Passenger Traffic for First Quarter

While MIA notoriously ranks last on several airport quality surveys, that hasn't hampered travel to the airport, even in these economically troubled times.
Though, like most things, it seems people from abroad are helping Miami tourism and business travel. International passenger traffic jumped 8 percent, while domestic passenger traffic rose only 4.5 percent.
The Sun-Sentinel says a strong performance by American Airlines has helped the numbers. That carrier operates its Latin American and Caribbean hub out of MIA.
