Simon Cruz's Dog Mauled A Postal Worker And His Wife Allegedly Tried To Keep Away Cops

Ex-Miami Beach Commission Simon Cruz
Last Monday, Lucretia McKinney was delivering mail on her route of mansions along Pine Tree Drive when she turned the corner to a horrifying sight: Mariana Cruz -- former soft-core porn actress and wife of longtime Miami Beach Commissioner Simon Cruz -- standing in front of her house with her German shepherd, Sugarcane.

The dog was unrestrained, McKinney says, despite a certified letter from the U.S. Postal Service warning the Cruzes after McKinney narrowly escaped getting mauled two years ago, shortly after the 24-year veteran of the postal service began her route on Pine Tree. "That dog was always vicious," she says.

So on Monday, when she saw Mariana and the unleashed dog in front of the couple's $1.1 million manse, McKinney panicked. "I threw all my mail in the air and grabbed for my Mace," she says. "But it was too late."

The best she could do was shield her neck and face as the dog punctured and tore her forearm a half-dozen times before Mariana pulled the shepherd away. Then the situation got uglier.

"I was afraid I was bleeding to death, but she refused to call 911," McKinney says. "She wanted to take me to the hospital herself. First of all, I have procedures. Second, why would I trust this lady?"

So the mail carrier ran across the street, pushing intercoms and asking for help. When a neighbor's housekeeper called the cops, McKinney says, Mariana argued with the maid in Spanish. Then, suddenly, Mariana "hauled off and hit her," McKinney says.

Police eventually arrived, and McKinney was taken to the hospital, where she received dozens of stitches.

"I lived through a nightmare," she says. "This woman deserves to be punished."

Oddly, the police report describes Mariana, who appeared in the erotic thriller Private Lessons and the sex comedy Busted, only as a witness. The narrative doesn't note the alleged assault, though McKinney says she told officers about it. And no charges are pending connected to the incident, says Det. Juan Sanchez, a spokesman for the Miami Beach PD.

Mariana Cruz didn't return multiple calls. Simon Cruz, now the president of the Bank of Coral Gables, declined to comment because "I wasn't there."

McKinney is planning a lawsuit. She'll miss weeks of work, and she worries how she'll ever deal with dogs on her route after the attack. "I'm scarred forever," she says.

Here's the police report:

Miami is in the top 20 for dog attacks on postal workers. The USPS guidelines state that delivery can be stopped if a carrier thinks there is a safety issue. http://www.usps.com/communicat... It doesn't matter if you like Mrs. Cruz because she is a nice teacher, or you think that the postal worker is a scam artist. The fact of the matter is this: she had an unrestrained dog who bit somebody. At minimum, there were two bites, because of injuries to the forearm and elbow. If the animal left the property, she is at fault. If the postal worker asked that the dog be restrained, and was ignored, she is at fault. Don't let emotion get in the way of facts. If she is unable or unwilling to control the animal to ensure the safety of her neighbors or workers who are trying to do their job, then she is contributing to a public safety issue.

I live in the neighborhood, was a volunteer dog walker for the humane society for four years, have worked with hundreds of dogs and this dog is dangerous.  He went after my dog while dragging Mrs. Cruz down the walk by his leash (with her yelling at him to stop) forcing me to turn and run. Another time he was in the back seat of her truck with the window completely down, saw my 17 pound mutt, became very agitated and appeared ready to jump out forcing me to tune and run.... again.  A week before the attack I was at a neighborhood association meeting and the subject of that dog came up with several people voicing their concerns (all of them dog owners with stories like mine). I hope the mail carrier ends up with a lovely house in the 5800 block of Pine Tree Drive.

I don't believe everything that's written in police reports. Also, there are three sides to a story, each party and the truth.  I bet you that dog has biten others and they were paid off. Also, a neighborhood like that, I'm sure there's surveillance footage.  Would love to see it.  Someone please put it on utube. As for the wife being an ex-actress instead of an ex-porn star, that's easy to research (internet, duh?)

I did check she was a television actress in Falcon Crest, Men Behaving badly, Mike Hammer, and two Garry Marshall films. The outher two films were R rated and she looks great

Looks like the Cruz PR flacks are out in force putting out disinformation.

In fact, Mariana's a p orn'er. 'Mariana Cruz' -- real estate brokerbit .ly/kShPqq ='Mariana Morgan' -- p orn'er, N SFW n ude pictures of herbit .ly/kvxCZ8bit .ly/lj4yIfbit .ly/lO3qO7bit .ly/mb3iOQbit .ly/mKRxsB

One and the same person.

Look for Mariana Morgan in Google Images. She's a bit 'actress'.  Parts of her anatomy starred and looked great back when she did the B- n udie flicks.

Mariana is a kind person who rescues animals with me. I live next to her and when the mail lady yelled I looked out and saw the dog on a leash, the mail lady throw her bag at him and the dog bit once. We all came out, there was no hitting and the police werethere in minutes and stayed with us all for 45 minutes. Mariana doesn't speak spanish and the dog isn't even 2 years old. Oh and she was a television actress check her resume.

She maybe a kind person, but last week her dog bit a human being that was doing their job and you're lying about what occurred. Looked out of where? You can hear inside your big gated manison, great ears?
