Carlos Gimenez Blows It, Lets Julio Robaina Steal Luther Campbell's Endorsement

• Luke talks like he has something stuck inside of him. If he would have been mayor he would have brought in his friend and brought in the rest of his buddies that just got out of jail

• Yes, so how can the money be reinvested into the community when the city streets are messed up, and the city spends money on changing median trees that were put on less than a year ago, while the community needs help to survive while unemployment rate sky-rising people still losing their house due to the economic issues.

• It appears Luke and Robaina committed a felony or two. Extortion and election promises are both serious charges. Luke, You done bad.

• Wow I am surprised by his endorsement.  What a shame! Luther also said it was because of maintaining CRA's, so Luther sold his endorsement too.  After all the crap Luther talked about Robaina.

• Your headline states that Gimenez blew it. The truth is that Campbell blew it. Look at your comments. We are VERY disappointed. I voted for Campbell because he wasn't "just another scumbag politician". I was wrong. I get  very upset when someone I supported turns out to be so underhanded and evil. Go back to having women shaking their booty in your face, Campbell. That's where you really belonged all along. You know, its not too late. Change to Gimenez, or take Reid's advise and don't support anyone. Apologize and I will forgive.

• Luther Campbell made a pact with the devil. Doesn't Luke know Robaina recommended the Marlins deal? That "deal" took money that could have gone to blacks and gave it to a rich Canadian, Jeffrey Loria, the owner of the Marlins. Luke got punked.

• It is improper and unethical for a candidate to promise appointments to anyone during a campaign. 

• I hope the people of Miami Dade county realize what a sell out Luther Campbell is.  He was not in this race to serve his community, he was in it to serve himself. He knew he had no chance of winning but when he lost someone would approach him for his "endorsement". What happens to all those things he wrote about Robaina in his column? Are they suddenly not true?  You can't really unring that bell.

• I really dont get it Luke, why? Can one be certain Robaina will not get rid of the CRA? I do not agree with Gimenez consolidating the activity with the General Fund (needs to be kept separate on the financials for transparency purposes). But, I do not trust Robaina who will ALSO try to take a little bit from the kitty to pay off another service. He will probably record it as a loan that will never be paid back so one will have to consolidate it with the Gen Fund in the end....

• Carlos Gimenez is absolutely correct on many fronts. The various City of Miami Community Redevelopment Agencies are a waste of taxpayer money. They are staffed by political cronies with zero real world experience. Luke is all wrong and Gimenez is totally correct. The CRA's should be abolished.

• I really believed in Luke and was willing to go all out to help in '12. I can't begin to tell you how disappointing this is. At least Luke showed his true colors now rather than when he actually got into a position of power.

• Rompe Noticias, Uncle LUKE deposited his TRUST in Julio ROBAINA from HIALEAH. The question that remains for TIO to reflect upon is -  with which ROBAINA did TIO cut the deal? Did TIO cut the deal with Julito El Mono SIMON? Or, did TIO make a deal with Julito MENTIRITA? Either one, TIO, you cut a deal with one of the twin brothers of Julio ROBAINA from Hialeah. I don't understant what you mean when you say, " you be the first one to put him on blast," but get your blaster ready, because either SIMON or MENTIRITA are going to teach you something about HIALEAH streets TIO.        

• Your photograph says it all. Look who is around them and go ask the REAL black community if those people represent them. Luke sold his endorsement to Robaina because Gimenez didn't want to buy it. That goes against everything Luke has written about in his column. Luke is a sell out. He sold himself and sold the black community that believed in him. He is definitely a politician.

• Robaina played your ex-candidate like a fiddle. This is why neophytes going into politics always . He's picking up a few votes free, because even if he does follow through and appoint Rutledge to a nominal position, where's the money for economic development? And he's going to pick a fight with the CRA, which influences more votes than Luke? At the end of the day Luke showed why he was never going to be a good mayor for all of Miami Dade. He's as balkanized as any of the politicians he rants about.

• How did Carlos Gimenez blow it? Because he wouldn't make Robaina's promise to hire Pierre Rutledge as a senior adviser who only answers to the mayor? That just tells me that Gimenez has integrity and Robaina and Campbell do not. Gimenez's refusal to play Campbell's sleazy quid pro quo game only reinforces my belief that Gimenez is an honest man and deserves to be our next mayor.
