Charles Barkley: Heat "Have the Worst Fans"

• Ive been a heat fan since 03 and im telling you that heat fans as a whole have plenty of bandwagon fans and the energy in the arena is horrible!!! I love the heat but hate my fellow "fans" after the finals loss everybody didnt care as much as you would think and wrote off the heat but their back now after they started winning. I support my team but despise the bandwagon fans

• I couldn't agree with Barkley more.  The Miami fans are so fair-weather.  I remember watching regular season games on TV in Miami.  They would be playing the Lakers, Dallas, Chicago or some other good team and yet there are hardly any fans in the stands.  As an FYI to those who doubt...Dallas has sold out every game for like the past 4 years.  That is not an exaggeration, look it up.  The Miami fans should be embarrassed.  They do not understand what it means to love a sports team.  Even the Miami Dolphins can't fill their stadium.  Its embarrasing for any NFL team to not sell out. Miami is a hell of a city to party in.  They just have some of the worst fans in the country, regardless of the sport.

• Went to a bulls/heat playoff game in miami.  Rooting for the bulls almost cost me my life, or at least a trip to the hospital.  I thought it was just a game?  Get a life Heat Fans.

• I hate to agree with Barkley (who I think it's a total jerk), but I notice that the Heat ams don't sound nearly as lound as other fans (Mavs, Bulls, etc.). I realize we have many entertainment options in Miami,but if you're a true fan and you go to the game, be there physically and in spirit. Clap, cheer, stand up, make noise! Everyone seems more concerned on what fashion statement they are making.

• So..you all do realize that MANY games around the league are televised.  From my own personal observation, Miami games are the only games where fans in the lower level seem to arrive strolling in mid 1st quarter or early 2nd quarter..leaving quickly at halftime them making their way back sometime around late 3rd quarter.  Other arenas in the league, seats are packed at the tip..It's almost like you all use Miami Heat games to do your best Laker game impressions with far less celebrities court side.  JMHO

• Why would a fan waste valuable time supporting, blogging and commenting on a 15 win team or a team that has no chance to go past the 1st round. I think its stupid to support losing franchises. If you do your team has no incentive to spend money and get better. Our fans are criticized for being interested in winning teams yet because we only support and spend money on winning our owners are forced to improve their product or suffer the consequences. Our strategy has produced 2 world series and 1 (about to be 2) nba championships. How do loyal Cubs fans feel? Knicks? Plus, every city follows their team more closely when they are good. Check attendence in the best sports cities when their teams suck.Remember we are not Indiana or Milwaukee or Memphis. If our teams stink we can just step outside and find a million other reasons to smile!!!Another thing.....whiny bunch???? WTF? I don't see any whining about the terrible officiating in these finals. I don't see any trash talk like Dallas has done. If anything these guys are true pros and let their playing on the court do the talking. Barkley is a loser and gets a pass for every stupid thing he does. Any other media member would have been fired for flicking off fans.

• I'm a huge heat fan... but he's totally right. Miami fans in general suck. They are fair weather fans, they talk shit about their own teams, and they don't always show up. That's because in most other cities, there's nothing else to do but go to the games. Miami fans need to step it up a lot more!!!! Barkley can criticize the noise level b/c it's true, but he best not be calling the Miami Heat a whiney bunch. That's just straight up hating because he said he "can't root for the heat."
