Marlins Stadium Construction 70 Percent Complete; Marlins' Season Destruction Also About 70 Percent Complete

Say what you will about the Marlins new Little Havana stadium, but at least the actual construction of the boondoggle has gone on without even a single hitch. We can not say the same for the Marlins actually season, however. The pure destruction that has resulted after a promising start is now, by our estimates, also about 70 percent on its way to being another embarrassing failure of a year.

"We're completely on time, completely on budget, and every time you walk through this ballpark, we picture fans here on opening day," say Marlins' president David Samson.

Their shiny new home, built on the grave of the old Orange Bowl, still has nine months and a half to go before its completely finished. Though, the main structure will only take about two and a half months to complete.

"The devil is in the details and the next nine and a half months we'll address those," said Samson.

Clearly though Samson has something else a bit more pressing to address. Like the fact that his team has lost 15 of their last 16 games. The team once seemed like it had an actual chance to win their division this season (for the first time ever), but has fallen to the very bottom of the National League East.

There's still plenty of time to turn it around. The return of Hanley Ramirez certainly won't hurt, but if the Fish want fans to show up next season they better start playing like they deserve them.

Marlins steal

Pipsqueak Davey Samson bringing in 80 year old "manager" for Marlins? Jack McKeon rumored to accept pay of $8.85 per hour.

Marlins suck.

Played for fools
Played for fools

Munchkin David Samson and Canadian Jeffrey Loria treat Miami-Dade taxpayers like Chumps. Major League Chumps.

Little midget david samson...

Perp walk required

Deposed Mayor Carlos Alvarez and Scammer Ex-Mayor Manny Diaz should be indicted and both should do the "perp walk".

Them sticking $4 BILLION in interest payments on the hapless taxpayers should be an offense punishable by life in prison. Instead both slimeballs retire with fat pensions.

That Bruno Barrerio should go to.

They should go to prison.

Marlins con man David Samson is the same David Samson who has lead the team to a 16 LOSSES and 1 win run. Last place.

Lucky for Samson he conned demented elected officials into handing over more than $4 BILLION of the taxpayers money.

As usual, only a foolish few pay for tickets.

$4 Billion in interest
$4 Billion in interest

The construction of the Marlins Stadium and Garage may be 70% complete but the taxpayers have paid less than 1% of their obligation. The taxpayers are on the hook for over $4 BILLION in interest payments on the bonds used to finance the work. Con man David Samson easily duped Carlos Alvarez and former mayor Manny Diaz into making the taxpayers pay for their folly.

Marlins lose 16 of 17
Marlins lose 16 of 17

The Marlins just lost for the 16th time in the last 17 games setting a club record for futility. Marlins owner Jeff Loria enjoys the $4 BILLION provided by taxpayers.

Marlins in Last Place, 12 games behind.

Who will pay for seats in the new stadium?

Indict them now

1 win and 15 losses Marlins this June. Almost zero paid attendance.

Marlins Canadian owner Jeffrey Loria used dimwit crooks Carlos Alvarez and Manny Diaz to con $4 BILLION from the taxpayers.

Loria celebrated by buying a $40 MILLION oceanfront house for himself. In New York.

Can Alvarez and Diaz be indicted?

Welcome to the American dream--a billionaire using public fundsto constructa private playgroundfor the rich and powerful.

$4 BILLION scam
$4 BILLION scam

After the taxpayers pay the interest on the bonds required to pay for the stadium and garage the cost to the taxpayers will exceed $4 BILLION.

The Marlins get to keep 100% of all revenues.

The taxpayers pay 99.99% of all the expenses.

(By the way, the Marlins are 1-15 in June with an average attendance at home of 1,200 paid tickets.)

I dont care for baseball at all, grew up in Miami. And I have nothing but hatred for this horrible stadium and what it's gonna NOT do for the city. The Orange Bowl should of never been torn down.I hope this stadium crumbles to the ground (with no one in it of course!)What an ugly monument. I hope everyone gets tired of it very quickly and it is torn downand the Orange Bowl rebuilt just as it was with no rust and more restrooms.Hate it Hate it!
