Suspect in Second Miami Beach Memorial Day Shooting is 45-Year-Old South Carolina Fireman

Around 5 a.m., about an hour after the Herisse shooting, a female police officer shot at a car that seemed to be driving uncontrollably and a high rate of speed towards her. The car eventually hit a police cruiser. No one was injured in the incident, but King was arrested on DUI charges.
"I don't know what happened. I was driving south on Washington Avenue behind a car that was cruising too slow. I drove around him and the traffic light was red," King told police. "I crashed into the police car that was parked in the middle of the street."
"I am not drunk," he continued. "I only had one beer, no...maybe two or three."
King is fire captain with the North Charleston Fire Department in South Carolina, and has been with the department for 17 years.
King has now been released from police custody, but his job back home may be in jeopardy. North Charleston Fire Chief Greg Bulanow tells The Post and Courier that King has been placed King on paid administrative leave until the allegations are resolved.
