ast time rapper and former co-owner of The Source magazine Benzino was arrested in Miami Beach in 2001, he threatened to boycott the city. Of course, he didn't, and Benzino (AKA Raymond Scott) was back in SoBe last week and was arrested for erratic driving. Police also found in his car a specialized handgun that shoots rifle rounds.

According to Random Pixels, Benzino was arrested Friday, July 8, near Ninth Street and Euclid Avenue. He was charged with reckless driving and threats to a public servant. Police also found an FN Five-Seven firearm in his car, which was impounded.

Benzino was previously arrested in Miami Beach in 2001 for reckless driving and marijuana possession after the filming of the Source Awards show. He claimed he was the victim of racial profiling and police brutality and threatened to boycott all of Miami.

Though a rapper, Benzino isn't known as much for his rhyming skills as he is for his controversial ownership of The Source magazine. He was alleged to have forced favorable coverage of his rap groups into the magazine, while reporting negatively on rappers he was personally feuding with. Those allegations led to a memorable feud with Eminem.

Benzino relinquished control of The Source in 2005 and has since founded Hip-Hop Weekly, a Miami-based tabloid that covers rap music.
