Carlos Gimenez Adds Two Staffers, One at $225K Per Year

Genaro "Chip" Iglesias is back at County Hall.
Carlos Gimenez is turning to a trusted face to help him run Miami-Dade County government. Banana Republican has confirmed Gimenez is bringing back Genaro "Chip" Iglesias, whom we predicted last week would be part of the new mayor's team. Iglesias will start in 60 days as chief-of-staff/deputy-mayor at an annual salary of $225,000. He is resigning as manager of the Village of Key Biscayne. He previously served as chief of staff to then county commissioner Gimenez.

Gimenez has also hired Inson Kim, another former commission staffer, as his mayoral executive assistant. That makes Banana Republican two for three on our predictions from last week. The mayor's spokesman, Thomas Martinelli says there are no plans to add Judith Faerron, the former editor of Miami Metro Miami Monthly magazine who consulted on Gimenez's campaign.

The hirings were first reported by blogger Elaine de Valle, who also named other additions to Gimenez's staff including another Gimenez commission office veteran, Frank Balzebre.

very-interesting makes me feel a bit concerned. but too early to tell.

Fire 2,000 employees
Fire 2,000 employees

Carlos Gimenez is a multi-millionaire thanks to the insanely rich City of Miami Fire Department pay and benefit scheme.

City of Miami needs to cut pay and benefits for every employee.

Carlos Gimenez needs to fire 2,000 County employees.

Reduce pay & benefits
Reduce pay & benefits

Carlos Alvarez got recalled by 88% of the voters. He was a putz.

Now Carlos Gimenez assumes more responsibility and Gimenez is taking 50% less pay and benefits than that pig Alvarez.

50% less pay and benefits
50% less pay and benefits

Carlos Gimenez dropped his pay and benefits 50%. In addition, to being paid 50% less than recalled Ex-Mayor Carlos Alvarez, Carlos Gimenez will be assuming far more responsibility. Carlos Gimenez will fortunately not have to deal with the liar George Burgess. Burgess was stealing $400,000 from the taxpayers.

Just for the record Frank, that's Judith Faerron, formerly of MIAMI MONTHLY (not Miami Metro) magazine, who is busy running  her own company these days. Thanks for the shout-out, though -- Jude

The guy gets a $10K/month pension from the fire department.  That's like Slick Rick Scott taking $1 salary as governor.  Not that tough when you're a multi-millionaire.
