Reggie Bush Likely Headed to Miami

A potential deal to bring Bush -- who won a Super Bowl ring during his most recent game in Miami -- was reportedly hammered out by Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland and agent Joel Segal.

The final sticking point is the contract negotiations, but expect an announcement sometime this morning, sources told Jay Glazer, who first broke the news on his Twitter page.

Subsequent reports say the Saints have agreed to trade Bush to the Dolphins, who must renegotiate a current contract that owes the running back $11.8 million in a deal cut after he was picked in the second round of the 2006 draft.

Bush, who has been hampered with injuries, is not an every-down back, but would give the Phins an explosive offensive player who is a major threat on kick-off and punt returns.

Bush's immanent departure was signaled when the Saints picked running back Mark Ingram in the first round of April's draft.

According to reports, Bush is prepared to make the move.

During his five-year tenure in New Orleans, Bush rushed 524 times for 2,090 yards and had 294 receptions for 2,142 yards. He scored 29 touchdowns.

Last year, Bush was hampered with a broken right fibula and had just 150 yards in eight games. He has only completed a 16-game season in his 2006 rookie year. He was sidelined with different injuries in 2007, 2008 and 2009.

If the Bush deal is cut, Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams, both free agents, will likely end their careers in Miami.
