In this week's issue of New Times, you'll read about a company called Miami-Dade County Short Sales that allegedly ripped off $2.4 million from out-of-state real estate investors last year. Two of the women suspected of being involved in the scheme have admitted to prior scams over the past 20 years.

Ayda Young, who referred clients to Miami-Dade County Short Sales, was criminally charged for grand theft and organized scheme to defraud in separate cases in 1991 and 2000. She admitted guilt and received no prison time in both incidents.

Yohanny Garcia, who was the registered agent for the company, has been arrested twice for forgery and grand theft. She also received probation and no prison time.
