A Short History of Porn Stars Being Fired From Their Day Jobs

​People tend to have hypocritical views about porn. Sure, it's a billion-dollar industry and almost everyone has watched some (and a whole lot of people have attempted making their own for private use), but we have a tendency to disparage the people who actually produce it.

Earlier this week, Riptide brought you the tale of Shawn Loftis, a Miami-Dade high school substitute teacher who got fired when it was discovered he moonlighted as gay porn star Collin O'Neal. Of course, he wasn't the first porn star to be fired from a day job for doing what we all do, except in front of a camera. Take a trip down memory lane with us for a short history of porn stars getting fired for their day jobs.

Between stints in the Army, Dye starred in a few pornos before attending college on the G.I. Bill. Subway execs caved in to the irate customer's demands, but you'd think they'd want to keep someone around who has so much experience handling footlongs.

We're not even sure if Playboy technically constitutes porn anymore, but regardless, Lunderby got pink-slipped from her corrections officer job last year after her spread was discovered. Apparently her bosses thought the news had become too much of a distraction around the prison. It didn't help, however, that she listed her actual job as a corrections officer on her Playboy questionnaire.
