78-Year-Old Kills 21-Year-Old Wife, Sets House on Fire

Guenther Floerchinger, a 78-year-old man, is alleged to have shot his 21-year-old wife before setting his Port St. Lucie home on fire and then killing himself. Floerchinger made two phone calls before his suicide -- one asking a neighbor to take his wife's 4-year-old daughter from the home, and the other to 911 to tell police what he had done.

The Daily Mail has identified the wife as 21-year-old Carhina Floerchinger, a native of the Philippines.

According to TCPalm.com, Floerchinger called his neighbor at 1 a.m. Saturday. He asked the woman to retrieve his wife's 4-year-old daughter from the home. The neighbor and her husband collected the child and then called police. Floerchinger is not the father of the girl.

Floerchinger also made a 911 call around that time. He told the operator that he had just killed his wife and planned to kill himself.

Police arrived at the scene to find the front door open and Guenther dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

They discovered Carhina's body in a back bedroom. The room had suffered smoke damage after Guenther tried to ignite some gasoline before killing himself.

"Police suspect this is another murder/suicide here in Port St. Lucie," Officer Tom Nichols told TCPalm.com. An incident on September 9 in the otherwise sleepy town also involved a man killing his wife before killing himself.

The Daily Mail reports the couple met online while Carhina was living in the Philippines. They had been living in the house together for about a year.

Like everything else in the Philippines though easily shoved under the rug as a quick fix husband kills wife scenario when more often than not foul play is at work with relatives killing for money or political motivations. The Philippines is a country everyone should avoid!
This is a common scam in Florida when a young women finds an older lonely man. My parents were married for 31 years when my mom died of cancer. Two years later my fathe remarried, moved from IL to FL. His second wife died 23 years later. A month later without my knowledge, a young woman befriended my father at bingo and moved in with him. I found out bingo is where these women find the old men. One day when I called my dad, he disappeared without forwarding information. Checking with his bank, I discovered this woman talked my dad into putting her name on the checking/saving accounts, bought an expensive luxury car with her name on the title, talked him into selling his house, and “NOT” telling me anything about it. They move hundreds of miles away, bought a new house, with her name on the deed. A new will shows her to inherit everything upon his death which was a month later at 84. A background check on this women shows this was her third older husband and was good at what she does. A lesson to folks with a single lonely parent such as mine. Once someone has lived with a person for a year and assets have been transferred into both names, there is nothing the law can or will do. Though my dad was diagnosed with dementia just before he died, an attorney who’s ethics are questionable, attested that my father was normal when the new will was signed. Grand total of this legal heist, $300,000.………..

Sorry but selling yourself is stupid amd deadly, obviously! And her daughter could have ended up just as dead cause she used someone to get to the united states
u guys do not know how to live in a third world country. Karinna just wanted to give her daughter a good life here in the US. Basic things here for us is a luxury in the Philippines. Just say whatever u wanna say to her but pls dont call a dead woman dubass u do not know her.
Im not sure about offering the kid to him, i dont see any evidence he was genuinely a peadophile, he just liked em young as do many rich old men. Completely agree with the no pity for anybody but the little girl.
i agree do you know how many of these women end up dead..or killing the husband or whatever..if this is what you choose to do you know the risks..like being a prostitute enhances your risk of meeting a serial killer up close and personal..but this dumbass woman put her child at risk also..who knows maybe he killed her cause she offered up her baby girl to him to keep him off her...sorry but i have no pity for her or him only the baby
What she had to endure? i think you mean what she signed up to endure? If she wasnt such a money grabbing user maybe this wouldnt have happened. Not excusing what he did at all but she was the one who chose to marry the wrinkly old dude.

She married him to get into the US, then didn't want want his nasty old wrinkled up balls and was trying to leave him. Serves him right for searching for love online and overseas....ugh poor girl she was probably tired of telling him to keep his dirty spotted see through hands off her beautiful body. What a shame. He should have just killed himself for being such a lonely old perv..... Ladies if your gonna marry for money or a visa, at least make sure he isn't repulsive and dependent on viagra first. Geez what a damn shame....
Selfish bastard left the child an orphan. But at least he left HER alive. That is a mercy.

The piece says "two-year-old daughter" and then a few sentences later says "four-year-old daughter" just wanted to point that out because it's an age mix-up. What a shame that she met her fate at such an early age.
