Drunk Florida Man Calls 911 Because Taco Bell Won't Serve Him Tacos

Terry Lynn Kimbell, 50, of Pinellas County, was in a classic conundrum Tuesday evening: He was drunk and wanted Taco Bell. But by that time of night, Taco Bell was serving its hot, meaty fast food only through the drive-thru, so he decided to walk through it. When employees refused to serve him, naturally, he called 911.

Here's the, uh, meat of the transcript of the call, from CFNews13.com:
911: "Largo emergency."

Kimbell: "It's not an emergency. However, can you -- can you put me through to dispatch? I'm at the Taco Bell, and I walked in, and I left my car on purpose, so I wouldn't drink and drive. I walked up, they wouldn't serve me. So, I'm at the Taco Bell at 137th and Walsingham and I just want some tacos. That's it."

Who hasn't been in a situation where they've thought, "I just want some tacos. That's it?" You almost feel for the guy. Kimbell explains he can't bring his car through the drive-thru because he's been drinking:
911: "What are the employees saying?"

Kimbell: "You can't walk up, you've got to drive up. You got a get a DUI to get a taco. I got the munchies and I walked a quarter mile from here. Are you going to help me out or do I have to get arrested to get home? You know what I'm saying?"

911: "Well, we're not going to take you home."

Kimbell: "I want you to call the manager at the Taco Bell."
Though Kimbell stayed on the phone with the 911 dispatcher for 11 minutes, they did not comply with his requests to call the manager. They did however call police, and Kimbell was arrested for misusing the 911 system.

Do they not have Checkers anywhere near Largo? Not only is that good drunk food, but also they actually have walk-up windows.

Unsurprisingly, such crimes are nothing new to Florida. In 2009, a Fort Pierce woman was arrested after she called 911 three times because a McDonald's had run out of Chicken McNuggets.

Call a cab and get your taco moron!

This is not about tacos or not getting served at a drive through window.  This is about people who abuse the 911 system and tie up police, fire rescue, and ambulances for nonsense, while people with real emergencies have to wait.

Alcohol is so glamorous. This is the first incident of basically asking to get arrested i've ever seen. It's okay Terry, you can have a bologna sandwich when you get to jail.

Nope, not me. Sorry to disappoint.

Yes, he misused the system and yes he was probably acting belligerently but I was glad to see that he was smart enough to leave the car at home and avoid killing some unsuspecting motorist(s).

Not the best judgement displayed here but at least he used intelligence where it mattered most.

Alcohol is legal, yet Cannabis is illegal.
