Fidel Castro Is Still Alive and Has a New Hat: Cuba Releases New Photos

Like a cockroach, Fidel Castro just won't die. After the American press began printing speculative stories about Fidel's relative silence in the past few months, the Cuban government has finally released new pictures of everyone's least favorite retired dictator demonstrating the great feat of being alive.

The photos were released yesterday on CubaDebate.cu and claim to show Castro being interviewed Tuesday by Venezuelan journalist Mario Silva. Castro is shown sporting a new camo bucket hat, a change of pace from his once-favored military-style number. He's also sporting a Puma jacket. Yep, Castro is the guy who denounces Western capitalism while proudly sporting clothing with logos of Western capitalist brands.

Why still obsess on Fidel at all? The guy is retired. Raul's running the show now, for better or worse. Fidel is neither the best nor the worst leader in world history, and this post is just petty.

Besides, Cuba has free healthcare. Of course he's going to live bloody ages.

Wow what a petty article. Who cares he'll die anyway soon enough. Don't care for communism or fascism personally. Which is clearly more than can be said for the tiresome writer of this dribble. Say what you will about Castro a lot cleverer and more of a patriot to his country than any of the fascist who want their country whoring for a US mafia. Hopefully Cuba will democratise and allow private enterprise. Hopefully they won't let it get to the situation where everything is controlled by corrupt lobbyists, like in the US. Viva A free Cuba!

Cuba needs to democratize and allow free enterprise. My fear as well is that corrupt lobbyists, crony capitalism, massive disparity between wealth and poverty and Wall street type corruption takes root in Cuba. Hopefully, they can learn from our mistakes. One thing for sure, no way will Cuba get rid of universal health care. We can learn from Cuba regarding healthcare.
