Jacory Harris will start for the Miami Hurricanes when the team makes its home debut in ten days against Ohio State according to USA Today. Harris, a senior, sat out the Maryland game due to his involvement in the Nevin Shapiro scandal, but will return to take over his starting duties despite the promising play of sophomore Stephen Morris.

The move is a surprise, especially coming 10 days before the next game. While Morris wasn't able to lead the suspension depleted Canes to a win he did put on a promising performance. Oh sure, he through a few interceptions. Though, Harris is known for his interception-prone passes as well. He racked up more I than TDs last year.

The announcement must be a sign that Al Golden is confident that Harris, who at times during his career was buzzed about as an early season Heisman dark horse, is finally ready to live up to his potential.

The USA Today report is also interesting, considering several reports yesterday indicated that Golden would wait to pick a starting QB until after Saturday's practice. Update: ESPN is chiming in to confirm that Harris will indeed be the starter.

Four other Hurricane players will also return form suspension on September 17th. Linebacker Sean Spence and wide receiver Travis Benjamin will regain their roles as starters, while defensive linemen Marcus Forston and Adewale Ojomo are listed as co-starters.
