Eddie Dominguez Goes For the Cash! Good-bye Journalism! Hello City National Bank!

The executive editor of the Daily Business Review, Eddie Dominguez, is jumping ship.

He sent out this email yesterday:

"After a decade as executive editor of the Daily Business Review, I've decided to leave the DBR and journalism and take a short stroll up Brickell Avenue to City National Bank where I begin Monday as Senior Vice President and Director of Marketing, Communications and Community Relations. I am lucky to be going from one well-regarded local institution to another.

"This was a decision that did not come easy and without a few long sleepless nights filled with deliberation. But I am sure this is absolutely the right move for me and at the right time."

Dominguez has worked at the Associated Press, The Palm Beach Post, and a bunch of local magazines. He's also a member of the Miami Dade College hall of fame. He's done solid work. We are sad to see him go.

The paper's editor-in-chief, David Lyons and publisher Chris Mobley -- both a veterans of the Miami Herald -- remain at DBR.

Best of luck Eddie. Sorry to see you go. Not sure I see you as a banker, but hey, you're lucky to have any job, much less a fresh start, in this market. All the best.
