Koran-Burning Florida Pastor Terry Jones to Run for President

Categories: Politicks

Terry Jones, the press hungry pastor of a tiny Gainesville church that damn near caused an international incident by promising to host "Burn a Koran" day, has decided he's going to run for president. Because that's exactly what we need: more wackos people running for president! In his press release Jones doesn't clarify whether he'll try to run as an Independent or attempt a last minute swoop into the GOP fray, but there's no doubt that his platform is conservative.

The platform, as outlined in seven points, seeks to deport all illegal immigrants, cut taxes, cut spending, and cut bureaucracy. For a guy known for hating Islam, his platform doesn't even touch on the religion:
1. Stop overspending immediately. We are now overspending by 4 billion dollars a day.

2. Balance the budget. If this is not done, then we will experience a total collapse of our economy and way of life.

3. Reduce military spending. All military on foreign soil should be brought back immediately and all future involvement of military on foreign soil should not be engaged until our country has become economically strong again. The security of our nation must be reexamined and our military spending must be cut by several billion dollars.

4. Deport all illegals. We must immediately begin the deportation of the 20 million illegal aliens living in our country. This would be an operation similar to what Eisenhower did to provide jobs for the soldiers who were coming home after the war.

5. Also saving us 400 billion dollars per year.

6. Reduce corporate taxes. Our corporate taxes are the highest in the world. Corporate taxes must be reduced immediately in order to encourage people to start new businesses and existing corporations to expand, thus producing the jobs that are needed.

7. Reduce bureaucracy. We must reexamine the bureaucracy of our government and businesses. We are dying and drowning in bureaucracy, rules and regulations. Companies must be held accountable for the consumer's protection, but the over-control and overkill that we have is destroying our companies.
Jones may be a disgraced, press-hungry, reckless, dangerous zealot, but his platform actually doesn't sound all that much different than any of the Republicans running. Not sure if that says more about Jones or the modern-day GOP.

Should Churches be Tax Exempt?

If churches want to play the game of politics, let them pay admission like everyone else."."

This is the most ridiculous campaign I have seen in my lifetime and I am 57.  They are all idiots and all crooks.  If our country seriously votes for any of these wackos, well, then we deserve what happens!  I think that the media is just trying to take our mind off of the fact that we are still desperate for jobs and that Congress is not doing their job!

Are you looking for a job?  Check out my site at www.beyond.com.

Strait from Ron Paul's playbook! It won't matter who elected president in 2012, our current system cannot change with all the Zombies we have in congress. We need a total overhaul in congress, before any change can come.

Pastor Terry Jones is not a wacko. He actually makes sense most of the time. I don't agree with his wacko christian beliefs but his views on Islam are accurate. Most of the liberals, politically correct and "love thy neighbor" crowd doesn't have a clue about the Islamic ideology.Read up coz it is not the time to be ignorant. Ignorance is bliss but is injurious to the world.

Yes, it's hilarious watching these kooks spout their hate. Saw a brilliant video on YouTube yesterday of a former Eastern Bloc citizen confronting some of them in New York (I think) and asking them about North and South Korea and some other questions on socialism. The cretins didn't have a clue but still wanted to shout him down.

Why else would he not mention religion? He doesn't want to get shot down right away! Let's think realistically here, do we really think that someone is going to change their racist, narrow-minded thinking just because they didn't mention it in their campaign? One more question, does he want to deport illegal immigrants for reasons of high populations or is he just taking advantage of the opportunity to get more Islamic nations out of the country? When is the entire nation of America going to realize that the hatred of our society is holding us back rather than furthering it?
