LeBron James Has an NFL Career on His Mind
"When is the deadline for a team to sign a free agent?," he tweeted this afternoon to ESPN NFL analyst John Clayton.
Probably an idle joke, but with James you never know, and it's not exactly like he's a stranger to the gridiron.
While at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, James also pulled double duty on the football team. He was named all-state first-team as a wide receiver his sophomore year, and helped take the team to the state semifinals the next year. Speculation about how far he could have taken a football career is nothing new.
Last week, James returned to St. Vincent-St. Mary, and suited up in full pads and practiced with his former high school team for about an hour.
There was also that State Farm ad in which he dreamed of suiting up with the Cleveland Browns:
Ironically in the ad he leads the team to victory over the Miami Dolphins. We doubt Cleveland fans are eager to see James come back to town, but, well, the Dolphins could sure use some help. James' favorite team is the Dallas Cowboys, but the Dolphins have become a haven for Cowboy rejects in recent years.
