Math Teacher Jerome Pearson Found With 1,500 Child Porn Images in Hialeah

​Jerome Emery Pearson, a Hialeah resident and former math teacher at a Broward public school, has plead guilty to possession of child pornography after a gigantic stash of lewd images were found on his personal laptop computer. Pearson was initially released on bond, but couldn't keep away from porn. He was re-arrested after being found to have accessed adult porn at home in early September, which violated terms of his release.

Rather than face a full trial, Pearson has plead guilty to the counts. He now faces up to 10 years in prison, followed by life-time supervised release. He will also have to register as a sex offender.

Pearson was hired by Broward Public Schools to teach at Everglades High in 2005, and resigned in August. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials originally caught wind of Pearson's child porn habit in July. His wife allowed investigators to search his laptop. They found more than 1,500 images on the computer. Pearson latter admitted to having had viewed child porn online for the last ten years.

Pearson's sentencing is scheduled for January 12, 2012.
