Rina Shrivels Back to Tropical Storm Status, No Longer a Threat to Miami

Yesterday it seemed that Rina was poised to reach category three strength winds with an eventual turn near South Florida. Today, Rina has dissipated back to tropical storm status and is now projected come no where near us. Jeez, Rina, what a loser.

Rina is now expected to brush up against Mexico's Yucatan peninsula before taking a total U-turn back into the Caribbean and dissipating further to tropical depression status. Here's the five-day map from Weather Underground:

Though, the storm could still bring heavy and destructive rain to Mexico.

In unrelated weather news, our local forecast still has relatively high chances of thunderstorms and rain this weekend. Womp. Womp.
